Rajasthan Forts Tour

DAY 01: DELHI
Golden Triangle Tour Our tour will begin from arrival at Delhi Airport. On reaching airport, Travel Company representative will welcome us and assist in transfer from airport to hotel. We will be provided all the travel documents and do small briefing. Rest of the day will be at leisure. We may use the time by doing city tour or do shopping in local market.

DAY 02: DELHI - JAIPUR (By train)
In this day will proceed from Delhi to Rajasthan state. Our first Rajasthan tourism destination will be state capital Jaipur city. It is also called "Pink city of India". Jaipur is about 250kms south-west of Delhi. We will take morning fast train for this transfer so that we will reach Jaipur before lunch time. After lunch, we will proceed for Jaipur city tour. At first we will visit Amber fort which is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is located 11 kms north-east of Jaipur city. Amber fort in Jaipur was built by Raja Man Singh-1 in 1592 and later many additions were made. Being a massive structure, its sightseeing will take 2-3hrs.

DAY 03: JAIPUR
In this day we will do full day Jaipur city tour in which we will visit famous Hawa Mahal, City Palace, City Palace Museum, Jaigarh Fort etc. Here Jantar Mantar is a UNESCO World Heritage site, built by Sawai Jai Singh. It is based on architectural astronomical instruments. Their are 5 such Jantar Mantar in India and among them Jantar Mantar at Jaipur is well maintained. Apart from this, we will also do some shopping in evening hours.

DAY 04: JAIPUR - CHITTORGARH (310kms/07:00hrs)
In this day we will travel from Jaipur to Chittorgarh. It is located in south-west of Jaipur city. It was the capital of Sisodia dynasty of Mewar and offers great heritage monuments which includes forts, palaces, temples, pillars etc. Chittorgarh fort has been recently declared as UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a beautiful place located on the bank of Berach and Gambhiri rivers. Its first historical reference come in 271 B.C. and when it was under Maurya dynasty and they did construction work here. Later Rajputs clans Sisodia, Gahlots, ruled this fort in different times. Chittorgarh fort has a great history of wars, sacrifices, bravery and Jauhars (mass suicides by women and children when defeat seems assured). It remained politically important till year 1559 when Rana Udai Singh II shifted the capital to Udaipur.

DAY-05: CHITTORGARH
In this day we will continue Chittorgarh sightseeing. We will visit important Chittorgarh tourist attractions like Rana Kimbha Palace, PAdmini Palace, Vijay Stambh, Kirti Stambh, Fateh Prakash Palace, Meera Temple, Chittorgarh Fort Gateways etc.

DAY-06: CHITTORGARH - UDAIPUR (130kms/03:00hrs)
In this day we will continue tour to next destination Udaipur. In morning hours, our taxi will take us from Chittorgarh to Udaipur. We will try to reach Udaipur hotel in early hours so that, after check-in we will proceed for excursion tour to Kumhalgarh Hill Fort which is another invincible fort included in UNESCO World Heritage Sites. It is about 85 kms north of Udaipur. It was the birth place of great Mewar warrior "Maharana Pratap". It is located at hilltop 1100 meter high from sea lever surrounded by 36kms long wall with 360 temples inside fort. Its construction began in year 1443. Later in evening, back to Udaipur. It is a scenic honeymoon destination in Rajasthan. Udaipur is also called "City of Lakes" as number of natural and man-made lakes are around here. Udaipur was the capital city of Kingdom of Mewar. Sisodia rulers of Rajput clan have ruled over this region. We can find number of grand forts and palaces during Udaipur sightseeing which reflects the grand royal past of Udaipur, Rajputana architecture, engineering, culture etc. Spend the evening on boatride in famous Lake Pichola.

DAY-07: UDAIPUR
In this day we will do full day sightseeing of Udaipur city. We will try to cover most of the prominent tourist attractions of city. Udaipur tourist attractions includes City Palace, Lake Palace, Monsoon Palace, Jag Mandir, Jagdish Temple etc. We will do visit all the important spots one by one.

DAY-08: UDAIPUR - JODHPUR (270kms/05:30hrs)
In this day we will proceed from Udaipur to Jodhpur in north direction. It is the second largest city of Rajasthan state and often referred as "Blue city" due to prominent usage of blue colour in houses around famous Mehrangarh fort. At the same time due to bright sunny weather around the year makes it entitled as "Sun city of India". Jodhpur was founded in year 1459 AD by Rao Jodha who was Rajput chief of Rathore clan. He made the city as capital of Marwar kingdom. In this day we will do evening city visit.

DAY-09: JODHPUR
In this day we will do full day Jodhpur city tour. As it was capital of Marwar kingdom, it is gifted by massive palace, fort and other heritage monuments. Popular Jodhpur tourist attractions includes: Mehrangarh fort, Umaid Palace, Jaswant Thada cenotaph, Clock Tower, Balsamand Lake, Jain Temples. Begin the day with visit to Mehrangarh fort. It is a impressive large fort situated 400 feet above the city and visible from all corners of city. It is located on the top of approx 100 feet high perpendicular cliff and surrounded by thick wall with seven gateways which makes it invincible for enemies. It was built by Rao Jodha in 1459. Inside fort we can see many palaces, museum, museum shop, Chamunda Mata temple and other construction work. One should must visit the palace museum to see its unique collection. Tourists need to buy entrance ticket and can visit the fort from Sunday to Saturday, 09:00hrs to 17:00hrs. Later in this day we will visit to Jaswant Thada cenotaph just 01 kms from fort. Later in evening visit magnificent Umaid Bhawan Palace built in 20th century as a famine relief project. Due to use of Chittar stone in construction, it is also called Chittar Palace. Majority of it part is now converted into a luxury hotel. Remaining portion is open for visitors as a palace museum.

DAY-10: JODHPUR - JAISALMER (300kms/07:00)
In this day we will move further in north direction from Jodhpur to Jaisalmer. It is also known as "Golden city of Rajasthan" due to presence of Yellow Sand Stone and presence of sand in surrounding area which gives an impression as it city is soaked in golden yellow colour. City was founded in year 1156 A.D. by Rajput Maharaja Jaisal Singh from which its name "Jaisalmer" is derived. Here Jaisalmer fort is the prominent tourist attractions which is visible from all corners of city. In year 2013, it was included in UNESCO World Heritage Sites list under the title of "Hill Forts of Rajasthan". As it is long journey from Jodhpur to Jisalmer, we will spend evening on relaxing Gadsisar lake built in 1400 AD. by Maharaja Gadsi Singh.

DAY-11: JAISALMER
In this day we will do full day Jaisalmer sightseeing in which we will visit Jaisalmer fort, Jain temples etc. Begin the day with visit to massive Jaisalmer fort which was built in 1156 AD. by Rao Jaisal who was Bhati Rajput ruler. It stands on Trikuta hills of Thar desert like an oasis. It is a sedimentary rock foothill on which fort stands. Local people knows it by the name of "Sonar Quila" which means Goldern Fort. It has three layered of walls and 99 bastions for security of fort. In past, all people lives inside fort but now about 4000 people lives inside it. Main attractions inside Jaisalmer fort are foru massive gateways, Raj Mahal, Laxminath temple and Havelis.

DAY-12: JAISALMER - DELHI (By Train)
In this day we will visit Bada bagh, located 6kms north of Jaisalmer city on Ramgarh road. It is a photogenic place surrounded by sand dunes. Bada bagh or Barabagh in Jaisalmer is a garden complex having collection of cenotaphs of royal family members. After this we will visit Patwaon Ki Haveli which is a beautiful building now converted into museum. It offers picturesque view of Jaisalmer fort. After this we will visit "Thar Heritage Museum" which showcases historical and folks art of Thar desert, post-cards, manuscripts, coins, weapons, sea-fossils etc. It is a nice place to understand this place. In addition to all this, we will also do camel safari in Jaisalmer. Later in evening, we will take train from Jaisalmer to New Delhi by which we will reach Delhi in mid-night. On reaching Delhi, transfer to hotel.

DAY-13: DELHI
In this day we will do full day sightseeing of Delhi city. We can divide the city in two parts i.e. Old Delhi and New Delhi. Here Old Delhi is the area which was established during Mughal era. It consists of Red Fort (UNESCO Heritage site), Jama Masjid, Delhi gate, Chandini Chowk etc. Comparative to current Delhi city, it is a small part of Delhi but rich in historical treasures. Second part is New Delhi region which was mainly developed in last stage of British India, in 20th century, engineered by Sir Edwin Lutyen. It consists of India Gate, President House, Indain Parliament, Connaught Place market etc. We will visit both the regions. In addition to this other two UNESCO World Heritage Sites Humayun Tomb and Qutub Minar. On request we can have english speaking guide with us for city tour.

DAY-14: DELHI
It is the last day of our tour package. In this day we will just relax at hotel or may do some shopping. Later transfer to airport for departure.
